Time for a Shower?

A shower can calm your own nervous system but have you ever had an "energetic" shower to wash off someone elses stress?
Stress and anxiety has been affecting so many recently, particularly over the last week with war, floods and the ongoing pandemic.

Lately I have been supporting my community by offering  activities and tools to activate the Vagus Nerve to calm the physiological response, but there is another part of our body that is often forgotten.

Before it even starts to affect us physically, there is an energy that surrounds stressful people and stressful situations. You know that feeling when you walk into a room and although you haven’t heard the conversation – you can just feel friction in the air. Another place you might feel this is in a work environment: clients have reported that they can feel the energy as soon as they enter their workplace – they know whether it is going to be a good or bad day at work by tapping into this with their sixth sense,

On the opposite end of the spectrum, when you go to a party or event where everyone is happy and enjoying the scene, the energy around you is somehow lifted.

Without consciously noticing, we often take on the energy that surrounds us. If it is fun and light, we can also start feeling that way, but when there is stress and tension our energy gets contracted and/or heavy and although we may not consciously recognise it, we start to feel dragged down by the energy. Even if we weren’t feeling it before, after we encounter an “energetic dumper”, their stress can enter and alter our own energetic field.

Here’s how to remove unwanted stress and anxiety that doesn’t belong to:

How do we remove unwanted energy?

There are a number of ways to protect ourselves in order to stop taking on someone else’s energy in the first place, but one of the quickest ways to remove unwanted energy from our space is to take an energetic shower.

  1. Start by finding a quiet location (outside is ideal, or somewhere like a bathroom at work)
  2. Stand with your feet flat on the floor, legs slightly apart and take in 3 cleansing breaths
  3.  Close your eyes and imagine a big shower head above you
  4. In your mind, turn on the tap and let the universal shower rain down all over your body
  5. In your mind you can say something like: “I allow any energy that does not belong to me to wash away”  or “Anything that no longer serves me is now being washed away”
  6. Imagine everything you don’t need running down a drain and out into the ocean

7.  After you feel like the negativity and stress leave your body, you can ask the universe to replace it with energy you DO want to feel, such as helpful and healing energy.  I will post about this simple exercise in the near future. In the meantime, if  you are looking for strategies to protect your energetic field before you even enter the stressful situation, get in touch, I’d love to help.

Love,

Mardi
